Our goal then, as now, is primarily to provide friendly and safe spaces in which women can share their passion for games and game-making. We also provide a platform for women creators to demonstrate their games, in turn showing the world just what it is women in this industry are capable of doing.
Gender diversity in games is a complex issue, but in practical terms it has generally meant that social and networking events in our industry have a heavy masculine skew. We want to encourage more women to engage with games culture, in the hopes that this imparity will balance out, further down the line.
We're not here to discriminate, or to recruit for a mighty gender war. LadyCADE events are, in fact, open to all genders, while being particularly inclusive for women. They're also intentionally laid-back affairs; an opportunity for women to chill out, have a few drinks and hopefully make new friends and connections.
LadyCADE is dedicated to to providing a harassment-free, social experience for everyone, regardless of gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, age or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of our attendees in any form. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the event at the discretion of the hosts. Our anti-harassment policy can be found here.
